Patricia Tirey has been with KTS since 1982 and was instrumental in building
the unlawful detainer litigation department. She has been a senior partner
since 1990. In her time with the firm, Patricia has handled over 7,000 unlawful
detainer trials, both residential and commercial, jury and non-jury. Patricia
has also lectured extensively on the subject of landlord /tenant law to
property owners and managers, and also teaches other attorneys in the
Continuing Education of the Bar courses. Patricia is currently actively
involved in the oversight of the San Diego support staff and services. In 1998,
Ms. Tirey, along with fellow partner, Patricia A. Coyne, authored an amicus
curiae brief in the case of Losornio v. Motta. Said brief helped convince the
court in the Fourth District Court of Appeal that landlords need not add an
additional five days when utilizing the post and mail method for service of
notices.
