We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our firm is looking for a Small Claims Assistant to join our fast-paced team. If chosen as the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing the department and clients with administrative support and processing a high-volume of paperwork related to small claims cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, open, and review small claims files received by the firm
  • Prepare and file small claims cases with the appropriate courts
  • Communicate with clients by phone and email to obtain missing information
  • Contact the courts and various government agencies regarding cases
  • Perform extensive data entry, entering notes into databases with a high level of accuracy
  • Perform database research and calendaring
  • Assist with other related duties as needed

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Previous administrative office experience
  • Excellent written, telephonic, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work while operating against inflexible deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes in policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous legal and/or e-filing experience
  • Essential Forms experience
  • ProLaw experience

Schedule:

Position is full-time at 40 hours/week. Our business hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.

We currently offer a hybrid in-office/remote work model in accordance with our COVID-19 Temporary Remote Work Policy. New hire employees will complete the majority of their onboarding and training in-office as deemed necessary for the position by the firm before transitioning to a possible hybrid schedule under this policy, subject to approval by their supervisor.

Compensation:

The pay/salary range for this position begins at $18.00, depending on experience.
