DESCRIPTION: California passed SB 1157 in 2020 that gave tenants the right to have their rental payments reported to a national credit reporting agency in certain affordable properties. This is one of the first laws in the country to assist low income tenants create or improve their credit history by providing credit for their largest monthly expense, rent.
